ABOUT US

	Bender's Foods began in 1986 when Randy and Marta Bender opened their first store in Denver, Iowa but the grocery roots go back another twenty years. Randy started his career in the grocery business early, bagging potatoes and stacking bottles from the age of 10 in Dubuque, Iowa. He went on to complete a comprehensive grocery management program with Randall's Foods throughout the Midwest going from Dubuque to Lexington, Kentucky gaining experience in all departments of all sizes of stores before coming back to open his first store in Denver. The Bellevue store followed in 1990, Fennimore, Wisconsin opened in 2002 and Guttenberg, Iowa in 2004. It's no coincidence that all four Bender's Foods are located in the friendly small towns of Northeast Iowa and Southwest Wisconsin where Randy and Marta both grew up. The Bender's have four children: Jacob, Rachel, Megan and Danielle, all who have worked or are still working in the stores.
